2022 Equipment Pick Up Directions

Please be patient; the fitting process doesn’t take long for each player, but you will wait in line for a while before it is your turn in the room.

STATION 1: Players will enter at the big overhead garage door at the YMCA SOUTH (Logan's Landing); please do not come in the main entrance doors.

Visit the CHECK IN / CHECK OUT table and tell them your last name and they will tell you two things to remember:

PANTS COLOR (black, yellow, gold or silver) - all pee wee teams are black pants

HELMET SIZE (xs, s, m, l, xl)

Proceed to the RIGHT until you find the equipment room door.

STATION 2: Tell the coach what color pants you should have and they will help players get the appropriate size. There are a few rooms to change in off the hallway or players can put them on over shorts while in the room. Pants should stay up at the waist, and should cover your knees.

Players should put their football pants on and wear them for the rest of the loop.

Each player will get only 1 pair of pants this year, please wash before each game.

Players on teams assigned yellow, silver or gold pants should make sure they have a belt when they leave.

STATION 3: Players should move to the next available coach to get their shoulder pads. They keep these on as well once fitted.

STATION 4: Last, each player will get their helmet in the equipment room as well.

Tell the coach at this station the size that you were given at the CHECK IN table, we will start with this size.

Coaches have been instructed on how to fit helmets, please follow their guidance. Sometimes players say helmets are too tight, or cry because they are hard to get on and end up leaving with a helmet that is larger than what is safe for them. Helmets should be snug about ½” to 1” above their eyes and less than a finger gap in the back.

Coaches will also use white tape to put a name tag on your helmet. Please do not put athletic tape or duct tape on your helmet at any time.

There were a number of families that turned in their helmets last year without cleaning off the tape and decals, so you may need to remove stickers or use some goo gone or soap/water at home to clean up the shell.

A leather chin strap is available for each player, but if you have bought (or plan to buy) your own chin strap or a hard cup strap, please do not take a league chin strap with you.

Players should take time at home to fit and adjust their chin strap and spend some time wearing their helmet. The two two higher snaps on the chin strap always stay connected to the helmet, the two lower ones are used when taking it on and off.

STATION 5: CHECK OUT. Every player must return to the check out table and give them their pant size (confirm  you have the right color), shoulder pad size, and helmet size. After you check out you are free to leave.
